I'm really loving the 90's Grunge trend that new in Topshop at the moment. I've always been a fan of Crafted's grungy clothes, but I think some are a bit over the top, and in general I'm not overly impressed with the quality. I'm really loving the shoes, and jumper top above them, but if anyone fancies buying me the lot then I'll happily take them off your hands! What are you pining for the January?

Thinking about making this a monthly feature, hence the title. ;)

Heaven In A Dish

This is definitely the tastiest thing I have cooked this year, and it was really simple. Eggs, spinach, single cream, nutmeg, parmesan, salt and pepper. Can't wait to make this again. Om nom nomz.

These are the first 'fancy' nails which I've done since before Christmas. Recently I just haven't had time, and I've simply just been putting on one or two of my favourite Models Own colours. I've done some nails very similar to these before here, which was probably my favourite design to date.

I used Barry M Peach Melba, Barry M Limited Edition Silver Sparkle, Avon White Polish and Models Own Black.

Revolution

Since moving to Huddersfield two and a half years ago, (time really flies!), I have to say that Revolution has become one of my (if not my ultimate) favourite places to eat/drink. Me and Liam went yesterday for a few cocktails and some lovely food, and it was all amazing. I had the denver fries with peppered steak and cheese, and Liam had the 8oz steak with a really tasty but strange sauce with maple, vodka and chili. Nomz! If you've never been, then I definitely recommend you do sometime soon! :)

I Just Can't Help Myself

Despite having a voucher for £10 off a £25 spend from the 14th of January, I really couldn't walk past The Body Shop's sale without treating myself to something! I fancied trying something different after using Moringa to death (honestly, it's heavenly!) so I picked up Spiced Vanilla Body Scrub, Wild Cherry Body Butter, and Passion Fruit Body Butter. All of which smell soooo yummy, and a bargain at the mere price of £15! I think I'll always be a bigger fan of The Body Shop over Lush.

I wanted nails that would still go with everything, so I decided to stick with black, silver and grey. There's a little gem on top of the tree, but I'm not sure if it photographed well.

Barry M Touch of Magic Lip Paint | Barry M Limited Edition Nail Paint

I went to Boots on Wednesday to hunt specifically for the Barry M Touch of Magic Lip Paint as I couldn't find it online. When I got there I found that if you spent £6 on any Barry M products then you get a free Limited Edition Nail Paint. So obviously I got the lip paint, and also treated myself to a new kohl eyeliner.

I wanted to get Touch of Magic just because of the whole gimmick aspect, I mean green lipstick that turns pink - how cool is that?! For some reason I didn't think that it would turn out so rich on my lips, but I actually really like the colour. Plus it stays on for ages without fading, and is really moisturising, it's definitely worth the £4.49 RRP. The photo's above are before and after.

The Limited Edition nail paint is just silver glitter, so I don't understand the hologram lid and 'limited edition effects' wrote around the bottom. However the nail polish is really nice, the glitter is fine and the polish itself is clear which means you can wear it over anything or on it's own. I'm wearing it over Models Own Matt Black which is a nice combination, and looks more silvery in life than in the photo.

Magic Wand

I finally tried out the Lush Magic Wand Bubble Bar, and I have to say I'm a fan! To say that it's a bubble bar, I didn't think it was overly bubbly, but I suppose if you waved it round more, the more bubbly it would get. However the look and smell is amazing, plus I love the fact that you can use it more than once. I will definitely be buying this again :)

Disney Nails

Christmas Food Market

I mention in the Festival Of Lights post that me and Liam visited the Christmas Food Market last weekend, here's a few photos that I snapped whilst there. The yummy food markets are probably one of my favourite things about living in Huddersfield, there's also a French market that comes once or twice a year that is amazing! We got so many tasty cheese from the lovely cheese stall, with flavours such as 'Christmas Cake Cheese' which has apple and raisons in it, and is rolled in cinnamon, sounds odd but it's so good! Oh and I got to use my new foxy bag when we went out too ;)

I'm really loving all the dalmatian print about at the moment, it reminds me of being a kid and watching 101 dalmations, loved that film. I realised that the dress isn't actually dalmatian print but it is pretty, lus pair it with the hair clip and you'll have the look then. Also I actually prefer the La Senza dalmatian dressing gown but there's only size large left - cry cry! (I'm still desperately trying to hut it down though, so if you see it in stock please let me know!)

Huddersfield In Lights

It was the Festival of Light in Huddersfield this weekend, which I'd been looking forward to for ages, however the weather was pretty crappy (extremely cold and random rain showers), so me and Liam just had a quick walk round town and then visited the Christmas market. Had the weather of been nicer, I would of took the SLR, and also I would of stuck around longer to see the giant tulips light up, and watch the many street acts that started later on, however a warm flat, cheese board and a film were calling, so this aided the decision to call it a day and go home! ;)

Celebrations

I've been mega busy working on important Piggypips things this week, so haven't managed to post as much birthday things as I wanted. I did intend to post photos from both my birthday night out in Huddersfield, as well as the family party at home, however I feel a bit weird about posting drunk photos of my friends on my blog, so I'll leave that just for facebook, haha! :)

So yeah, here's a few photos from the lovely family party, which was my joint 21st party with my grandparents 57th wedding anniversary. The people in the photos are myself (obviously), my lovely fiancé, my parents, my grandparents and my cousin Jade. The party was extra special because my grandparents came over from Ireland, and I hadn't seen them since me and Liam got engaged. :)

The lovely Kate recently had a wonderful Lush giveaway over on her blog, which I just had to enter as the goodies sounded so wonderful, and I'd never actually tried Lush before! I was so excited when I got the email saying I'd won, and even more excited yesterday when I got a gorgeous smelling parcel from the postman! It was a lovely thing to get during my birthday week! :)

I was very excited to try something out that day, so last night I tried the Lil Lush Pud, and I thought I'd do a post about it on here. I started taking photos, but the water didn't look very appealing at all, I mean, if someone had told you that the cast of TOWIE had just been in there, then you'd believe them, it was very yellowy/brown. This considered, I was amazed at how fast the pud dissolved, and it made the whole bathroom smell delish! I'll post some photo's when I try out the magic wand (which I'm very excited about!).

New Boots ♥

I got some new boots, and I think it's fair to say they are going to be my number one shoes this winter. I've been singing 'Could you be, the most beauuutiful booots in the world', Prince style, to them all week. (Yes, I really have been singing to my boots!). They are extremely comfy, and have an exaggerated cuff which can be folded over or left up, personally I prefer the folded cuff look, but it's always nice to have a change! :)

If you follow me on twitter, you will have read that I treat myself to some beautiful Mozzypop earrings a couple of weeks ago. They arrived last week, all wrapped up carefully in a cute little sweetie bag. I really love both earrings, I thought that the mint flowers would be my favourite, but I've actually worn the rose earrings every day since I got them! :) They're both just so perfect! Most items are out of stock due to the recent flash sale, however in the info section it says that stock will be replenished within a fortnight :)

Mylo Xyloto, is definitely a brilliant album, probably my new favourite at the moment. I personally wasn't a fan of the last stuff that Coldplay did, but if you like their old music, like Yellow, and The Scientist, then you're probably going to love this.

The Coat

Bought this beauty in Joy, Leeds on Tuesday too. It was the last one in store, in my size, scottie/westie print (and everyone who regularly reads my blog should know I'm a little Westie crazy!), with elbow pads and reduced to £48.30 from £69.00! Pretty much seemed like fate to me, especially seeing as though I planned on looking for a coat that day anyway! :)

The Clock

Remember a long while back I posted about some clocks that I really wanted? If you don't then here it is. Anyway, when we went in to Leeds on Tuesday, we visited Urban Outfitters and they had this beauty in it's box hidden away for only £5! Regardless to say we snapped it up! It's currently hanging in our flat, and looks very colourful along side the new espresso cups (alas, I didn't pay that cheap price!) I bought Liam for his birthday.

Leeds

Mostly what we ate and drank in Leeds, (I'll post my purchases in another post). We meant to go Leeds on Monday for the fiancé's birthday, but our plans got rained off, so we went on Tuesday instead. Ended up going to GBK, for the first time ever, and although it was yummy, I wouldn't say it really lived up to my expectations. The best part of the meal was probably the GIANT lime milkshake, and grilled halloumi bites (they went to quick to take a photo!). I had the camembert and cranberry chicken burger, and Liam had the buffalo burger. Overall it was a lovely day.

I know it's early, because students were only just moving into halls and what not yesterday, (we've lived here over summer, because we've stayed in the same studio as last year), but we've already started thinking about where we will live in final year. :) We're thinking about moving in with a good friend from uni, who Liam lived with in halls during our first year, so that mean's we've got a bigger budget to work with. I've found this place, and it's pretty much my dream apartment, but at the moment it's being let, but I've got my fingers crossed that it will come on the market sometime in the next year! :)

I saw this nail art here and just had to try it out myself. Sorry about the poor lighting, I painted them late at night, so had no natural light, obviously! Could of been a bit neater if I'd of used a glitter nail varnish, and my nail striper wasn't so stringy! Overall though I'm pretty impressed. Let me know what you think!

You may have noticed that I haven't been blogging much over the last couple of weeks, sorry! That's because I've been setting up Piggypips ready for the website launch that happened today! :)

Piggypips is a baby and children's boutique shop which will eventually sell the cutest cards and prints around! Bling-A-Ling

I've seen a lot of bling nails going around at the moment, so I decided to do my own, just on my ring finger to go with my engagement ring. Instead of using nail glue, I just used top coat to stick down the diamantes so that they would be easy to remove without ruining my nails. The colour is Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours Orange Crush :)

Lake District

I realised after looking through the photo's that I took in the Lake District, that I actually didn't take many of the wedding, or anything of significance, instead the majority of the photos were just of peoples drunken antics. I think I felt a bit uncomfortable taking photos because I didn't really know anyone at the wedding, and the first time I'd met the bride and groom (boyfriends cousin) was the day before their wedding!

Anyway, as promised, here are a few of the snaps that I did take of the wedding, the view from our room, my extremely red/brown arm from a full day sitting in the sun, the huge plates of food that we were given at the night do, and a beautiful car and garage that was opposite the hotel.

There are plenty of things that I wish I'd taken photos/taken better photos of, such as the wedding photos on the beach, the first dance, the cake, the lanterns being let off at the end of the night, the list could go on. Lesson learnt either way, so lets not dwell on the past!

I don't usually blog about films, but I watched Coco Before Chanel the other night, and I really recommend it. If you have LoveFilm you can watch it online for free with your package, if you don't have LoveFilm then go and buy it, you will not be disappointed :). I've always had a thing for french films, so I just had to give this a watch when I saw it. In fact, I think the only ever other film that I blogged about was a french film too. Strange :)

Wedding Season

Day | Night

Going to another lovely wedding next weekend, this time in the Lake District and it's going to be more casual :) Here's what I'm going to be wearing. The top one I'm planning on wearing during the day, it just looks so lush on, and the second is what I'll be wearing at night. The night time dress was available in blue or cream/hazel, I got the second option as I'm really not a fan of wearing white heels, I just think they look really tacky, and I wasn't sure what else would go with the blue one apart from dark shoes! Plus my boyfriend is wearing tan pants (very similar to these, but longer) to the wedding so the cream dress matches better ;) haha.

Ps. I also bought this dress yesterday, couldn't resist it at £10 in the sale, suppose it's another option for the night do, or is it a bit too casual?

I've been a bad blogger as of late, I don't know why, I just haven't felt the motivation or inspiration to write about anything, and I've not really had anything exciting to show you, but I'm back now and I'll try and be better. *brownie promise*

These probably, (okay, definitely!), are not the neatest nails I've ever done, but they look really fun and nice, and were really quick to do. These are possibly one of my favourite nail designs that I've done yet, and I'm sure with a bit of practice that I can get those lines straighter. Made using Barry M Grey, and a black striper.

I bought the dress on the left a while back when I posted my Republic Wishlist, it wasn't actually on my wishlist, but I saw it in store and it looked amazing on, so I just had to get it! I also tried the bird print one on at the same time, but they didn't have my size so it was a bit ill fitting, so I decided to pass on that one and get the gorgeous peterpan collar dress instead. However I was browsing the Republic sale today, and I found the dress in the middle for just £12 instead of £26.99, bargain! I just had to buy it, as it is such a flattering dress! Now all I need to do is invest in the right one :)

New Necklace

Remember I posted about the lovely Red Brick Lipstick shop run by Lily a couple of weeks ago? Well I bought a lovely one off necklace from her shop, and it's a beauty! It came with a gorgeous envelope with my name on the front, and the necklace packet itself was really well put together with a cute little sticker seal on the back. So the boyfriend (go follow him on twitter) finally caved in, and told me to email the landlord to see if I can have a hamster and they said yes! So here she is, little Lola, she's a bit timid right now but I'm trying to coax her into be hand tame with little hamster choccies. She's apparently ginger and white (according to the pet shop) but I think she's more of a caramel, haha, she's got lovely brown eyes and she's uber fluffy and soft! I'll no doubt upload a few more photos once she's become a little less timid and camera shy :)

No Place Like Home

Everytime I come back to Huddersfield, I miss home a little bit. There's just too many home comforts there, plus I miss my parents and two little westies loads! I hate the fact that we can't have pets in rented accommodation, a little bunny or something would really make this flat more homely!

Self Generated Brief

I mentioned previously that I was going to post some bits from my current self generated brief, however I just haven't had the time, and I actually handed it in today, so I guess it's no longer my current project. Nevertheless here are some of the end pieces I came up with; the first is the logo, then bus shelter posters, park tickets, flyers and postcards :). I also made a website template, iPhone app, and t-shirts too :)

As I said, it's a self generated brief and the idea was for me to rebrand and relaunch Glasgow Zoo, so I'm sorry Glaswegians but the zoo isn't really reopening, not to my knowledge anyway!

During a lovely day out shopping in Leeds with Liam, we ended up in Urban Outfitters as usual. I love the shop but I hate going in because it always makes me jealous that we can't have all the amazing home-wares! A Beautiful Wedding

As I mentioned I was attending a wedding on easter sunday and it was truly beautiful :). The bride (my boyfriends mum) looked stunning, the cake she made herself was gorgeous, and the venue itself was amazing. The people in the photo's are the bride and groom (obviously), my beautiful mum and dad, my boyfriend and his brother x 2, and then myself and Liam :). I have so many other lovely photos (over 900!), however I'm not a fan of putting photo's of other people on here so these will have to quench your thirst! Hope you all had a lovely easter weekend whatever you got up to!

I think I'm in love with Republic at the moment, they have so many pretty things! Luckily I currently have a £25 gift voucher, and they have 25% off everything in store and online until midnight Sunday, so I'm going to go and have a look in store with my mum today or tomorrow :) (yayz!) I'm particularly in love with the Peter Pan dress but they barely ever have the stuff I love in my local stores! :(

Sorry I haven't been posting a lot of my work recently, I'm just in the middle of a giant creative block, however I do have a little easter illo coming up over the weekend, and I might even give you a sneak peak at my current uni project soon too :)

Edit: I bought myself the peterpan collar dress today, it looks just as lovely on as it does online, and also got myself this little number :)

I've recently come across the lovely Lily's Red Brick Lipstick shop, and it's so wonderful! The shop sells a mixture of rescued vintage pieces of jewellery and clothing, and also hand made pieces of jewellery too, but you have to act quick because most of the pieces are one off's so once they're gone, they're gone.

This is the first year that I haven't been able to see my mum on mothers day! :( So instead I thought I'd dedicate a blog post and illustration to her (I did send a card and prezzies in the post too!). My mum is definitely the best mum in the world, and being an only child means I don't have to share her with anyone else (apart from my dad). :) Anyway, I just want to say a giant HAPPY MOTHERS DAY, and I will always look up to you mum :)

I've been after some brogues for a while now, but couldn't find any that I really loved. However my lovely mum bought me some and brought them over for me yesterday when she came to visit and I've totally fallen in love with them, hence the illustration! The shoes are actually black but you wouldn't be able to see all the details if I made them black, so yeah, let me know what you think because it's the first time I've attempted illustrating something from real life :)

This year I decided to give up chocolate for lent, and this includes anything chocolatey too, so now milkshakes, no chocolate dusting on my cappuccinos, no chocolate desserts or cereal, basically the full whack!
